3. NezoHub Solution
Nezo Core and Nezo Sydra
NezoHub comprises two key networks:
Nezo Core - a new Layer 1 (L1) blockchain designed to meet the evolving needs of decentralized ecosystems with a focus on scalability, customization, and advanced functionality capable of handling over 10,000 TPS.

Decentralized Sequencer Model
Nezo Sydra is among the first Layer 2 networks to implement a decentralized sequencer model. This approach ensures complete decentralization, eliminates single points of failure, and aligns incentives across all network participants. Multiple sequencer nodes, elected through a staking and delegation mechanism, validate and order transactions, forming batches that are then processed by the zkEVM.
High Throughput and Scalability

Nezo Sydra Architecture
Nezo Sydra leverages zkEVM and Data Availability technology to process transactions in batches, to ensure validity and compress data. The transaction flow involves several components working together:
User Transactions: Users initiate transactions within the Nezo Sydra network.
Sequencer Nodes (Elected): These nodes validate, order, and batch transactions, preparing them for zk-proof generation.
Prover Nodes: Generate zk-proofs for the transaction batches, ensuring data validity and compression.
zkEVM Processing: The zero-knowledge proofs generated by the Prover Nodes are processed here.
Submission to Ethereum: The zk-rollup proofs and compressed data are submitted to the Ethereum mainnet for finality and security.
Detailed Role of Validators and Nodes
Validators (Sequencer Nodes)
Validators (sequencers) are essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the NezoHub network. They are responsible for:
Transaction Validation: Ensuring that transactions are valid and compliant with network rules.
Batch Formation: Grouping validated transactions into batches to be processed by the zkEVM.
Staking and Delegation: Staking a minimum of 5,000 Nezo tokens to participate as a Sequencer Node Validator. Community members can delegate their tokens to these validator nodes, increasing their stake and potential rewards.
Nodes
NezoHub leverages two distinct node types within Nezo Sydra:
Sequencer Nodes (Elected): As described earlier, these nodes are elected through a DPoS mechanism. They are responsible for validating transactions, ordering them into batches, and submitting them for zk-proof generation. Maintaining high performance is crucial for sequencer nodes to be selected.
Prover Nodes: These nodes are responsible for generating zk-proofs for the transaction batches submitted by sequencers. Prover nodes can be permissionless, allowing anyone with sufficient computational resources to participate. The selection process for assigning transaction batches to prover nodes is an area of ongoing development. Potential approaches include:
Load Balancing: Distributing batches based on prover node capacity.
Market-Based System: Prover nodes could compete for batches based on factors like cost and proof generation speed. Sequencers could choose the most efficient option.

Delegation: Community members can delegate their NEZO tokens to preferred sequencers, increasing their stake and potential rewards.
Reward Distribution: Rewards are distributed based on various performance metrics. Sequencers earn transaction fees and additional incentives based on their performance, while delegators receive rewards proportional to their stake after deducting the sequencer's commission.
Economic Model and Formulas
The NezoHub economic model is designed to incentivize participation while maintaining network sustainability. Here's a breakdown of key components with brief explanations of the variables:
Staking Rewards (Rs):
Where Rs is the staking reward, Tf is the total fees collected within the network, Sp is the sequencer's performance score (based on factors like uptime and transaction processing speed), and C is the commission fee charged by the sequencer.
Delegator Rewards (Rd):
Where Rd is the delegator reward, Rs is the staking reward, C is the commission fee, Td is the total delegated amount, and D is the individual delegation amount.
Slashing Penalty (Ps):
Where Ps is the slashing penalty, S is the staked amount by the validator, and F is the fault factor based on the severity of the validator's misbehaviour. The fault factor system assigns a weighted penalty based on the infraction's severity, with more serious misconduct incurring a higher fault factor.
Burn Mechanism:
A portion of transaction fees (e.g., 0.2%) is burned to reduce the total supply of NEZO tokens, potentially increasing their value over time through scarcity.
Buyback Program:
Periodic buybacks from the Treasury are utilized to enhance liquidity and stabilize the NEZO token price.
Ecosystem Fund Management
The ecosystem fund is managed sustainably to support network growth and development. It is used for grants, incentives, and strategic initiatives to foster a vibrant NezoHub ecosystem.
